- How do lessons work?
- Each group of characters opens with an introduction — you see the kana large and hear it spoken. When you're ready, you practice with multiple-choice questions. Your answers are recorded automatically, so there's no self-grading.
- Do I need an internet connection?
- No. KanaLearn works fully offline, including the spoken audio, which uses your device's built-in Japanese voice.
- Is KanaLearn free?
- Yes — the entire app is free: every hiragana and katakana group, with no subscription and no ads.
- How does the streak work?
- Complete at least one lesson a day to keep your streak alive. Miss a day and it resets. You can set your daily goal in Settings.
- Can I set a daily study reminder?
- Yes. Daily reminders are optional and off by default. You can set a reminder time in Settings for a quiet daily nudge — calm wording that never mentions streaks or time away.
- Is my data private?
- Yes. KanaLearn has no account and no tracking. All your progress stays on your device. See the privacy policy.
